Sendy Wave Bond is a software model for splitting a commercial contract into milestone tranches and releasing each one only when the agreed documentary evidence has been submitted and verified by the parties who are supposed to produce it.

The problem

Cross-border trade payment fails in the gap between performance and trust

A buyer will not pay before shipment. A supplier will not ship before payment. The instruments that bridge that gap — letters of credit, escrow agents, performance bonds — work, but they are slow, manually reviewed, and priced for large counterparties. Mid-market trade is left choosing between prepayment risk and non-payment risk.

Structure the contract

The parties agree a set of tranches up front: what fraction of the contract value is released, on what condition, and which party or authority is entitled to attest that the condition has been met.

Collect attestations

Inspectors, carriers, customs brokers and consignees submit signed evidence against a specific milestone. The system records who attested, to what, and when, and makes that record visible to both sides.

Instruct settlement

When a milestone's conditions are satisfied and no party has raised a hold, the system emits a settlement instruction to a licensed partner institution. The money itself never touches this software.

This is a working model of the release logic, running entirely in your browser. It uses invented figures for a fictional shipment so you can see how the state transitions behave. It is not connected to a backend, a bank, or a payment network.

Design principles

Architectural foundations

We do not hold the money

Holding client funds means becoming a regulated custodian. Funds stay with a licensed partner institution; this software only produces cryptographic settlement instructions that the institution evaluates and executes.

We do not judge performance

The system does not decide whether goods are satisfactory. It records whether a nominated party attested to a nominated fact. Substantive disputes belong to the contract's own dispute mechanism, not to an algorithm.

We do not assume the evidence is true

A verified document is proof of authorship and integrity, not of physical reality. The design treats attestation as an accountability trail rather than as ground truth — this limitation is discussed in detail.
